The ASD/BC classrooms address the
educational and pre-vocational needs of students with severe
communication, social, and learning deficits through a behavioral base
and structured teaching. Emphasis is placed upon increasing functional
and independence skills. Academics, self-care, social interaction, and
life skills are addressed through hands-on activities, facilitated
activities and experiences. Generalization is supported through
home/school communication, school-based activities, and when possible,
community outings. The classrooms currently serve students from
Kindergarten through age 22 in multi-age groupings.
