CNGC 560-F01 Special Topics in Counseling:  Spritituality in Counseling

Date:         July 10th and July 11th
Time:         10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location:    Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, 351 Pleasant Lake Ave, Harwich, MA

Cost:         $278.05 for one graduate credit

Course Description: This course will explore the role and impact of values, spirituality, and religious beliefs in the counseling process, including how spirituality and religion impact counselor training.  The course will address the importance of conducting a psychospiritual assessment, as well as the development of goals and counseling plans which include spiritual issues with clients/students.  This course will investigate how spirituality is part of a broader understanding of diversity and mulitculturalism in counseling.

CNGC 567-F01 Special Topics in Counseling:  Marital & Family Therapy

Dates:         August 4-8, 2008             
Times:         9:00 a.m. - 4:25 p.m.
Location:     Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, 351 Pleasant Lake Avenue,
                  Harwich, MA                 

Cost:           $834.15 for three graduate credits

 

Course Description: This course is an examination of schools of family systems and treatment intervention options.  Attention will be given to the history and development of marital family therapy, current schools of therapy, intervention strategies, and the role of the counselor in marital and family work.  Professional standards for marital and family therapy will be reviewed.
