Assistive Technology - As part of a statewide grant, Cape Cod Collaborative had a School Wide Assistive Technology (SWAT) team trained during FY-99.  During the past several years the Collaborative has been providing evaluations and trainings to many of the school districts. Currently, Barbara Pratt, Director of Assistive Technology is available to provide evaluations to all Cape Cod school district students  with disabilities who may have difficulty accessing the curriculum or developing communication abilities. The Director of AT works within the school setting consulting with therapists and teachers to develop the best strategies to meet individual needs and to determine devices and software to help students access the curriculum. In addition, workshops and customized trainings are developed to meet district needs.

The Cape Cod Collaborative received a DOE Summer Institute Grant during the summer of 2004 and presented a 3 credit course, "Universal Design and Assistive Technology". During school year 2004-2005, the Collaborative received a “Breaking Down Barriers to Assistive Technology” Grant from Premier Assistive Technology, Inc. providing the most effective and affordable assistive technology software available. In addition, the Collaborative became a Clicker Training Center with training available in a variety of software products that support literacy instruction for students with disabilities.
